FROM YEAR OF CONNECTION TO SUPER CONNECTION

When we first met, Chris’s business was built around Unfair Advantage Live, the same event where I turned my epic fail into a dance party. Before I became part of it, Chris didn’t rent out hotels and Times Square billboards or have famous speakers join him. All that came later. Back then, he ran the event from a little room with a screen and himself onstage. It was only one day, and he had nothing to sell the attendees at the end. One morning, about a week before UAL, I woke up to Chris typing frantically on his laptop. “I know exactly what I’m going to sell at the event,” he said, homing in on the screen with a sly grin that I knew meant the game was on.

In an hour, he developed a program on a Google Doc that would have taken most people months to come up with. It was a “done with you” publicity program for business owners who wanted to get featured in the media. It was amazing, and sure enough, Chris Winfield Inc, soon to become Super Connector Media, took off.

By now, JLG Fitness had grown into a full-on personal transformation coaching business. I had expanded beyond fitness and was helping CEOs, celebrities, and high-performing entrepreneurs master their mindsets so they could build the body and the life of their dreams. I was earning multiple six figures and the company was entirely remote, so I had the freedom to work from anywhere. This meant I could hit the road with Chris to support him at events all over the country. I was having a ball and felt proud of what I’d created, but part of me wondered if I was still directly heading toward my Beyoncé/Tony Robbins vision or just sort of, you know, coming up alongside it.

The truth is, I was doing all the things I loved while supporting the man of my dreams, but something was still missing. I wasn’t totally in the pocket, and deep down, I knew why. Watching Chris speak in front of thousands of people made me so proud, but when you’re a performer, the desire to be onstage is something that’s embedded in you. Every time I was in the front row watching, I was secretly wishing I was up there too.

“Jen,” Chris said while jogging up a hill in San Diego. (Yes, this run was another Dare of the Day!) “What would it take for you to drop your company and become my partner in this business?”

And just like every other life-shifting moment on my path, I saw that neon sign, felt the flip in my belly, and took action on another dare. I shoved fear into the passenger seat of my car, sunsetted JLG Fitness for good, and stepped into my role as co-founder and chief mindset officer at Super Connector Media.

I’ve since achieved everything I saw in my perfect-day vision. I work alongside and come home to my Vision Board Guy every single day.
